JBL FLIP 4 – Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Black

JBL FLIP 4 is a decent speaker for listening to music. As a result, it has a well-balanced sound profile out of the box. Making it suited for listening to a broad range of audio content. It features a well-balanced mid-range. Which allows it to accurately reproduce vocals and lead instruments in the mix. While higher-pitched vocals may sound a little boring at times.

That said, it struggles to reproduce low-bass. So you won’t be able to hear the deep thump and rumble in bass-heavy songs. And there isn’t a visual EQ to let you to fine-tune your listening experience. It also doesn’t go very loud, and there is some compression present at maximum volume. Hence your audio doesn’t sound as clear as it could at higher levels of sound volume.

For a variety of reasons, the JBL Flip series of Bluetooth speakers. It is one of the most popular on the market. The most significant of these is the fact that every Flip speaker can be purchased. For less than $100 dollars. The JBL Flip 4 is an older model. But that does not imply that it is no longer relevant.

There are several components in the box, including the speaker, a bright orange charging cord. And the instruction manual and warranty information. Quite normal from the firm. But, at this price point, I wasn’t expecting anything particularly special in terms of a carrying bag.

Build and Design of the JBL Flip 4

However, while the fabric that wraps around the speaker appears to be very similar. To the previous generation, it is actually entirely waterproof this time around. Specifically, it is IPX7 waterproof. Which indicates that it is not only capable of withstanding submersion. For 30 minutes in up to one meter of water. But it is also protected against dust, filth, and sand. As a result, taking this to the beach was no issue.

Tossing it around in the sand and the water, then wiping it down. Throwing it in my backpack, and continuing on my journey was a breeze. For those of you who own a Flip 3 and haven’t dropped it in water. This is probably not a significant issue for you. However, it is comforting to know that whether you drop it in the pool or the ocean. You will not be required to replace the speaker.
