An automatic pet feeder can help keep your cat or dog fed even while you’re not home. This elegant WOPET model holds dozens of meals and may be configured to distribute them up to four times each day. We took it home and let our two cats use it for a week to see if it lived up to the many favorable reviews. Our thoughts follow.

The WOPET Automatic Pet Feeder has clean lines and a sleek black and white color scheme. Its main storage compartment has a removable food container that can hold up to 3.3 pounds of dry food.

Both the 5 and 195 gram portion wheels (ideal feeding cats and smaller dogs) and the 10 to 390 gram portion wheels are included with this feeder (great for larger dogs). Because we have two cats, we used the accompanying screws and a screwdriver to swap out the larger wheel for the smaller one (not included).

This pet feeder’s primary chamber is sealed with a clear lid that opens with a button. We loved this feature since it showed us how much food was left and protected the LCD panel used to program meals (more on that below). A detachable feeding tray is also at the container’s base. It was lightweight but sturdy enough that nosy pets couldn’t tip it over or break through the top for a late-night feast.

Electricity (adapter provided) or three D-size batteries power this feeder (not included). In the event of a power loss, the feeder will continue to run on batteries.

This pet feeder’s LCD screen allows you to program the timing and size of up to four meals per day. Meal sizes range from one to 39, depending on the portion wheel you use. The small wheel insert part sizes are 5 grams, and the larger wheel insert portion sizes are 10 grams. Depending on your pet’s size, you may want to experiment with this feature to find the optimal meal quantity. This time we used the smaller wheel and dispensed two size-5 meals per day. Our cats liked it.

You can use the camera to take pictures of your pet. The pets don’t know the camera is there, which is great for taking photos.

You can power the feeder via power adapter come with the feeder or 3 pieces D batteries ( not included). We recommend using the two together in case of power outages.

 

After successful connection:

When you hear the the Ding, click Next and wait for the connection to succeed.

You can enter your pet name, avatar, birthday, and weight.

You can share your account with your family’s mobile phone and watch live video together.

 

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Make sure the WOpet feeder is turned on and plugged into a wall outlet.

When prompted enter the correct wifi password in the WOPET app.

our home/business wifi signal needs to be a 2.4GHz signal.
