Despite the fact that I do not care for many of the hues available, the Button from Fibaro is a visually appealing piece. I would recommend sticking to black or white. I like that the button itself is huge and difficult to miss, which is helpful because I use them in difficult-to-reach places where they are difficult to notice, so they are extremely easy to recognize and press. When you hit the button, you also get a satisfying click, which makes it easy to detect whether or not the button has been touched, just like on an old-fashioned mechanical keyboard.

As for the value of The Button from Fibaro in a world where voice control is the norm, it turns out to be quite useful. Having to instruct Alexa what to do isn’t something I enjoy doing all the time. The Button from Fibaro allows me to initiate a scene or another SmartThings automation when someone in my house is asleep in the living room, which is something that happens quite frequently. Because the last thing I want to do is take my phone out, The Button from Fibaro allows me to do so. Other than that, I have another one in the hallway that I use to activate my Goodnight automation as I am on my way to sleep.

They are also used for other purposes, such as faux panic buttons, which “arm” my system and send notifications to users, depending on which button is pressed and how many times it is pressed.

The pricing, as with everything else from Fibaro, is my only complaint.

What is the source of their high prices? But, in the end, I prefer The Button from Fibaro since it provides a simple method of conducting automation inside of SmartThings without the need to use Alexa or my mobile phone.
